Miss Florida Usa "2009"Anastagia Pierre" was honored this past Sunday at the
Newport Beachside Hotel at her farewell party by Publisher of Success Magazine
"Dexter A. Bridgeman".
Anastagia Pierre received this award by "Success" Magazine and was honored as one of the most "Influential" & Prominent" Black Women of 2009.

Miss Florida USA has been very busy her her local community this year and past years.
Anastagia is highly regarded by the young girls she counsels through the Embrace the Girls Foundation, a youth awareness program that Anastagia is proud to support.
Anastagia recently noted, “If we start showing young girls at a young age, that with a little determination and hard work, they can be anything they want to be, then they will have the self esteem that it will take to overcome the many obstacles that life throws at them.”

When she was 13 she held the prestigious title of the Jr. Orange Bowl Queen, and a few years later went on to become the first African American to be crowned “Miss Florida Teen USA” 2004. This honor paved the way for Anastagia as well as other young black women. Two years later, she held the national title of “Miss Teen Dream Girl America” 2006.

After graduating from Sagemont Upper School in Weston, Florida, Anastagia entered Nova Southeastern University with the $40,000 scholarship that was part of her Miss Florida Teen USA prize package. A Junior at NSU, Anastagia is working to obtain her Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications.

On July 12, 2008, in competition with 67 young ladies from across the State of Florida, “Anastagia Pierre”, was crowned the first African American woman to hold the title of “Miss Florida USA”.


Anastagia is proud to have the opportunity to be a national spokesperson for numerous charities. She volunteers her time and her voice to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the nations leading organization for Breast Cancer research and awareness, the Kennedy Shriver “Best Buddies” Organization, and The Boys and Girls Club. She is a recipient of the “Key to the City of Miami-Dade County” and has made
Anastagia, has been called upon as a “Keynote Speaker” to convey the important message about maintaining positive self confidence, setting and reaching goals, and the importance of continuing with your education. She has reached out to other young women in the community, serving as a positive role model. She's doing all this while maintaining a high level of academic achievement at NSU.

Giving back to the "Local Community" is very important to Anastagia Pierre, some of her most recent events are:

· The Grand Opening of the “W” Hotel in Ft Lauderdale there were more than 800 invited guests.

· Green Fashion Week in Miami, the cause went towards environmental awareness and protection. Anastagia walked the runway for 5 international designers.

· Art Marshal Foundation Gala. This foundation is very involved in protecting the Everglades. Anastagia was a guest speaker along with participating in the fashion show modeling eco-friendly designs.

· The Marty & Wayne Huizenga Boys & Girls Club of Broward County hosted a Gala fundraiser at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hallandale. Anastagia as well as other local celebrities were in attendance.

· Anastagia visited the local V.A .Veterans Hospital in Miami and spent time with veterans on Presidents Day.

· Able Trust Foundation Gala at Mara a Lago. Anastagia was an honored guest and participated in the silent auction. Donald Trump is on the Board of Trustees of this organization that raises money for the elderly.

· The Transplant Foundation annual Holiday Gala at Jungle Island in Miami Beach. Anastagia has been involved with this organization since 2004 and was thrilled to present the awards for the evening.

· The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Gala at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hallendale. Anastagia was the emcee for the evening. Board members of the NAACP were in attendance.

· Anastagia has been very active with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. She has been an honored guest, judge, and workshop coordinator for various events throughout the tribe.

· Anastagia was included as a team member of “Team Amsoil” at this year’s
“Offshore Boat Races” in Sunny Isles, Florida.



Anastagia Pierre sends a special “Thank You” out to everyone that has
taken a true interest in her success this past year as “Miss Florida USA 2009”.
